The Museum of Islamic Sciences is designed to illustrate the great achievements in science reached in the Islamic world during the 8th until the 15th century AD. Distributed on 10,000 square meters, the exhibitions will lead visitors through the evolution of Islamic Science from its very origins.

The Lunar Science Center was created as a scientific facility for the determination of the Islamic calendar, a lunar calendar based on the celestial movement of the Moon. One of the most important criteria is the determination of the beginning of a new month by visual sighting of the crescent moon. Located in the upper floors of the Makkah Clock, the Center houses a special observatory for crescent observation, the Makkah Time Institute and some other facilities. The observatory is equipped with two telescopes.

Visitors access to the Makkah Clock Tower is facilitated through a 3700 square meter lobby area located in the podium of the Abraj al-Bait building. Visitors get prepared here prior to one of the highest elevator rides ever, some 400 meters up into the Makkah Clock. Based on security and admissions technology used in airports the facility integrates the highest safety standards with best visitors flow management.

The Makkah Clock shop is a museum shop dedicated to the Astronomy Center and the Makkah Clock Tower. The shop was realized on a 400sqm area located inside the Abraj Al-Bait building complex in Makkah. Sales areas and furnishing have a clean, understated design to direct the focus on the products of the shop. Free-standing counters with built-in drawers facilitate the presentation and storage of products. The tabletops have been manufactured from high-density, scratch-proof artificial stone.

The awe and greatness of the Universe is experienced on a spectacular visual journey inside the Makkah Clock Tower. High-speed elevators lift visitors 400 meters, right into the massive space behind the four clock faces. The exhibition spans over three galleries and surrounds a gigantic 50-meter-high void. Each gallery is dedicated to one of the main themes: the Universe - the Sun, Earth and Moon - Timekeeping. Facts based on the latest scientific findings are shown in an innovative way together with relating verses of the holy Quran. In-depth information is provided by an audio guide system in 13 different languages.

In 2004 we started using immersive 3D projection systems and interactive real-time visualization for several design studies of large construction projects. At that time, we collaborated with the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering in Stuttgart using their 6-sided CAVE projection system. The stereoscopic projection made it possible to carry out architectural visualization on a 1:1 scale.

Vista Media & Design produces animated films for design proposals of architecture and engineering projects. We create a perfect illusion, showing projects in full detail using visual effects. We produce films with a narrative structure and realistic visual representation to achieve a highly credible and convincing result.
